The main point of Vasco was to have the flavor of a barbarian who grew up in the gutter rather than the wilderness somewhere. Using some urbanized alternate class features, he was crafted as a quick, brutal thug.
In the setting we played in, Vasco grew up in sort of a renaissance Italy sort of place. He lived his life as a bully and a thug, skipping school because he was hardcore. Besides his brutal fighting style and lethal agility, what helped him rise through the criminal ranks was his ability to find out people's secrets and then blackmail them.
Vasco is a tough, thuggish guy, but maybe more lean and wiry than you might expect. He has many tattoos, the most obvious being some stylized lightning bolts on his cheek and the snakes coiled around his arms. He's usually confident and amiable, but will quickly ruin those that cross him. His fighting style is less about shrugging off attacks than quickly rushing someone to their death.
Dates played: once in spring 2007
Class levels: barbarian 13
Sweet traits: he had most of the usual barbarian abilities, except for some that were replaced with urbanized alternate features. Mainly his rage was a bit different and more flavorful (Dex instead of Con, sickness instead of fatigue), but he also started to get some features that made him better at charging. His charging was also improved by his greater powerful charge feat.
Sweet gear: Vasco wasn't in play long enough to get much interesting loot, but he did get a +3 greatsword of throwing and this amazingly uber dwarven urgrosh that everyone wanted him to use. He's probably wearing a kool (non-stylish) trenchcoat sort of thing, and maybe a kool hat.
