Thurik is my current character for Moradin's Hammerhearts, retiring Dorna and Belmarr. He's a scout, so he's really great at mobile combat, and he can really dish out the damage. He has a few levels of Highland Stalker, which means he's not too hampered by mountainous terrain like rubble or steep slopes (including stairs!). I think he's great fun to play, and I don't have any plans to replace him (though I guess I never do for any character :P).
Thurik Winterchaser was raised in a solitary monastery-type place in the mountains far north of even the chillier dwarven strongholds, whose residents have a long tradition of worshipping the souls of their fallen ancestors. Rather than showing much interest in the utility of soul magic, Thurik was more interested in exploring the wilderness, and left home with much disfavor from his family to join the dwarven armies in defense of their ancient citadels in [whatever war/battle Mike should probably name for me]. Thurik has spent his life since then roaming up, down, and under the mountain ranges of the North. He likes to go exploring, just seeing the beautiful mountain vistas and doing athletic stuff like climbing and jumping. He will often hire himself out as a guide to help people journey through the mountain passes (or even just show people sightseeing), to slay various mountain-dwelling monsters, including winter wolves and ice trolls, and to even do more generic scouting for military organizations from time to time. At the moment, he has become a member of Moradin's Hammerhearts and is travelling with other members of that organization to uphold dwarven koolness and stuff.
Though he does spend a lot of time running around in the wilderness, Thurik isn't really a loner. He doesn't mind travelling with others and will return to civilization frequently enough. He's as devout enough, but he realizes he wouldn't really fit in at a temple - his place is running through the snow-capped peaks of the mountain range and stuff. He follows some loose amalgam of generic dwarven Moradin-worship and his home's ancestor worship. The brief military experience he received in his younger years still impacts much of his thoughts and tactics.
Dates played: spring 2006 - 2007
Class levels: scout 8 / fighter 1 / highland stalker 3
Sweet traits: He's got some feats for helping him skirmish well (Spring Attack) and one that lets him heal a lot faster than normal folks. He recently got Elusive Target, which will make him pretty sweet at avoiding attacks in certain ways. He has one incarnum feat, but it doesn't currently give him anything special above what he could get with certain general feats - it's basically just a tinge of flavor.
Sweet gear: he wields a kool flaming surge flaming burst adamantine glaive - the reach really helps for skirmishing and defining most of his tactical choices. He's also got a kool mithral breastplate forged by the spirit of an ancestor living in dwarven heaven. He just recently purchased a cloak of arachnida which may be neat, and his boots of the winterlands make his life a lot easier while expanding his options for tactical movement.
