Cyril was created for a short little one-shot campaign in Mike's Jetherel setting. He's a bard who focuses mostly on spellcasting, magical abilities, and looking stylish. He often relied on his singing voice to get him out of trouble.
There wasn't really any thought put into Cyril's background - he's just some dillettante magic user who likes to sing to woo the ladies. He's often found random adventures to go on, most recently with this creepy little goblin dude (Gwar?). I like to think he sees the bardic tradition as this ancient path to power and he really resents people that don't take it seriously, like they think of bards as musicians rather than spellcasters.
He's a stylish young elf intent on wooing the ladies with some music and bedazzling them with spells. He relies on a wide assortment of spells covering healing, buffing, illusions, and enchantments. Properly empowered by song and spell he might be a decent melee combatant, but otherwise doesn't worry about it too much since there are allies for that.
Dates played: a couple random times in like 2007 - will probably end up playing him a few more random times...
Class levels: bard 9
Sweet traits: he's got a pretty good bardsong that he sings - inspiring courage in battle or fascinating/suggestioning people he meets are both very useful. He's also got some good spells that help in or out of a fight, like haste and glitterdust. I thought one of his koolest things was a feat to secretly cast spells in the middle of songs, a good way to surprise someone with some charm magic. Also some flavory but pretty much unused feat that lets him identify magic items with the appraise skill.
Sweet gear: Cyril wields your generic +1 rapier that he keeps in a nifty glove of storing when he doesn't need to poke people to death. He uses a mithral shirt and a buckler to protect himself, a cloak of charisma to sound better and look stylish, and a large collection of wands and scrolls to supplement his usual spellcasting abilities. Overall nothing too special.
