Belmarr, Hammer of Moradin

Character synopsis

The reason I had originally decided to stop playing Bräelan was because playing the band-aid was kind of boring - I wanted to be good at fighting and stuff. I ended up playing a cleric at the same time as Belmarr anyway (Dorna) but Belmarr was pretty combat oriented. He had special abilities with warhammers where he could throw them and use them better and stuff. Eventually he would have got some really awesome warhammer abilities, but not real soon, and I kind of got bored with him and more excited about the concept for Thurik. Still, he definitely critted spectacularly.

History / origin

Belmarr was a son of Bräelan Stonecarver, so it was natural that he pursue one of the pinnacles of dwarven awesomeness. He trained as a holy warrior of Moradin with a special emphasis on how to make the most of Moradin's favored weapon, the warhammer. This specifically came to fruit when he joined the Hammers of Moradin, an elite arm of the church that defended Citadel Khôrlad and dwarves in general. Later, he joined a newer elite arm of the church, Moradin's Hammerhearts, to go out and about and defeat threats to the dwarven way of life.

Descriptiony

As a paladin of Moradin, Belmarr has taken oaths to uphold justice, honor, chivalry, and stuff. This means he always upholds goodly dwarven things like family values and keeping promises. He is also very aware of the chain of command in the church and the military and knows he must follow orders, though Moradin's orders are above all others. He knows that orcs, goblinoids, kobolds, and other monstrous creatures are usually the foes to be defeated, but sometimes they can break the stereotypes and providing aid is often a much greater weapon against evil than a warhammer.

Dates played: fall 2005 - spring 2006

Class levels: paladin 8 / Hammer of Moradin 2

Sweet traits: paladin-y stuff, and some abilities to do sweet stuff with warhammers (like throw them)

Sweet gear: his best gear was definitely his warhammer - it was made out of a special metal (darksteel or something?), it did electric damage, and it did massive damage when it thundered on critical hits - but he also probably had some decent armor and stuff, too.
